Hot chocolate, sloe gin and gingerbread lattes may be some of the greatest perks of the chilly autumn season, however, the changing leaves and dropping temperatures also bring forth another treat: snugly blankets.
One may think that blankets and specifically using the term “snugly blankets” should be reserved for the twee and tweenage, however, I put my hand up and admit that I have a slight blanket problem – in the colder months I become obsessed. I cannot walk past a soft looking blanket in a shop without touching, cooing, and fantasising about what it'd be like to be wrapped up together in my bed.
Dirty.
I assume that I couldn’t possibly be the only psycho gal out there who likes a good bit of jersey, wool, or cashmere to snugly up to on a crisp autumn night – so here you are! Five snugly yet affordable blankets I would like nothing more than to get wrapped up in. (Emphasis on being affordable...well, bar one indulgence!)
Love Hearts Fleece
John Lewis, £30, pictured above
Cream Faux Fur Throw
Cargo, £19.99
Birgit Throw
IKEA, £34.99
Twisted Square Afghan
knitsbysarah on Etsy, $93.00
I realize that for a lot of us, $93 isn't exactly affordable, but I fell in love with this. Can't you just imagine laying in the center of this and pretending to be in the movie poster for Vertigo? Not even I have enough common sense to be able to resist a Hitchcock blanket!
Russian Floral Tapestry Throw
Urban Outfitters, £30
