I decided my first recipe for my Domestically Challenged column - in which I try take on a new domestic challenge every week - had to be something incredibly easy so that I wouldn't make an ass of myself right away (so much for that.)
Here’s the *simple* recipe for peanut butter cookies I found on CDKitchen that I will be attempting this week:
Ingredients:
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 cup peanut butter
Directions:
"Combine all ingredients."
I used a little flour on the side of the bowl because the dough was too sticky, because I didn’t measure the peanut butter I just eyeballed it. Well, apparently I eyeballed it too much. Anyways, my genius boyfriend told me to add a little flour. Well I did, and as I was putting the flour back look what happened:
I dropped the damn container and apparently the lid wasn’t on all the way and I covered myself in flour. Oh, bloody hell.
Ok, back to the recipe...
"Roll into one inch balls. Place on cookie sheet and flatten with a fork"
What in the hell does this mean? Are they supposed to be flat like a pancake? I finally looked at the picture the recipe had and realized you don’t “flatten” them with a fork you just press the fork on the top of the cookies as if to make a tic-tac-toe looking pattern.
"Bake for 8-9 minutes at 350f/175c"
"Cool and enjoy!"
See? I did it! Yay! I didn’t fuck up the 3-ingredient cookies. Hooray!
Make sure to check out Domestically Challenged next week!
