Is your love life lacking sparkle? Fancy something more than plain old booze? Babicka Original Wormwood vodka might be just what you’re looking for…
The geniuses over at Babicka vodka were apparently not content with creating one of the most delicious luxury vodka brands around, and have been cooking up something even better than that for us lucky people. Something better than vodka?!? I know right?
The latest innovation involves an infusion with Wormwood. Now while that doesn't immediately sound particularly appetising, get this - it's an aphrodisiac. Yep, drinking just got sexier. Aphrodisiacs come in a couple of different guises, for example chocolate is apparently an aphrodisiac. Well we all like chocolate, but eat too much of that and, well, let’s just say that comes with its own problems. What else have we got? Oysters! How delicious. Um, no wait, oysters are gross, from smell to texture to taste I really can’t think of anything that would turn me off quicker. This new vodka from Babicka has a delicious vanilla aftertaste and a hint of aniseed and caramel for warmth and sweetness…it’s already better than oysters and has a lot less calories than chocolate.
Now, as the old saying goes I'm a 'lover not a fighter'. So in order to give a genuine review of the vodka I decided to have a truly unromantic evening with my gorgeous partner, to see exactly how good this vodka is. In the interest of a fair and scientific study that you can trust, I needed to even out the playing field. I’ve broken a typical romantic evening down into four easy components:
1. Candlelight
2. Music to put you in the mood - (Barry White for example)
3. Delicious food
4. A romantic film
In order to counteract my own natural proclivity for romance and to really test the mettle of Babicka vodka I decided we should spend the evening in these conditions:
1. Harsh unflattering light
2. Death Metal music (the most obnoxious variety I can find)
3. I'm going to slurp my way through a ready meal
4. We're going to watch a documentary about the recession
Babicka really has its work cut out for it!
The night starts off a little slow (it’s really not very sexy) but once we tune out the music and the Martini’s start flowing (very dry with a twist) we start to loosen up. The microwave ‘ping’ signals dinnertime; and I try, unsuccessfully, to look alluring while eating food out of a plastic carton.
After that we move on to documentary time! I'd kill for a rom-com but halfway through the documentary talk of redundancy rates and financial collapse sounds a lot like having sweet nothings whispered in your ear...
Martini number two goes down very well and without getting too steamy let’s just say, even under the harsh light pretty much everything is looking good to me at this point.
Martini number three? Well, we were almost half a bottle in at that point. Let's just say Martini number three was served in the bedroom, and that, gentle reader, is all you need to know…
For your own sexy evening try this classic Martini recipe:
Ingredients
75ml Babicka Vodka
Good quality Vermouth
Olives/Lemons
Method
Wash glass with Vermouth and discard. Shake vodka with ice and strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with olive or twist of lemon - ta da! Sexy party time.
Babicka Original Wormwood Vodka is £35 and is available at Harvey Nichols and selected online retailers.
