Sure, it might not be noon yet, but there are plenty of people out there today that awoke knowing it was Election Day, and the anxiety they was insurmountable. Why wait until noon to drown your worries? Fuck it! I say, start drinking now.
If you're in the UK - you're worried The Americans are going to fuck everything up. I understand, folks. We dragged you into this war, we may have pulled you down with us when our economy started to fall...and we definitley unleashed the likes of Paris Hilton and High School Musical on you over the past eight years, so we have a lot to make up for.
If you're int he US, you're tired of being the asshole of the universe. It gets old, doesn't it? You meet someone from a different country and automatically want to apologize and make sure they know that, no, you didn't vote for Bush. No, you're not racist and no, you don't actually live on a farm like The BBC would have you all believe. (Even if your Uncle might...)
If you're voting for McCain, you're going to need to drown your sorrows.
If you're voting for Obama, you'll need a drink to celebrate.
And cookies, you'll also need cookies. So! Here are a few recipes for Election Day Cocktails and Election Day Cookies!

3/4 ounce homemade grenadine (see note)
