Magazines have been making the leap to digital in one way or another for quite some time, but the team at Good Housekeeping UK the leading women’s lifestyle magazine, have done something a little different. This week, they launched their first-ever iPad app in Britain, with a foodie twist.
Their brand new app, “Good Housekeeping Food”, will give iPad users and cooking aficionados in the UK a new and convenient way to access the very best of the Good Housekeeping recipes from wherever they are.
The first digital “collection” of recipes made available through the new app is called “Cakes and Bakes”. The name gives it away; “Cakes and Bakes” focuses on Good Housekeeping's tried and tested baking recipes. With 35 easy-to-make recipes, including illustrations and high quality photos, only paying 69p for each collection seems a pretty fair deal, no?
Good Housekeeping have stated that “Cakes and Bakes” will be just the first in a series of many planned recipe collections available from this new app. No word on how often the collections will be released, but for the millions of UK consumers like myself who are replacing the bulk of their cook books with apps and ebooks, the idea seems like a pretty successful one.
So, if you're an iPad owning domestic goddess, the Good Housekeeping Food UK iPad app with the Cakes And Bakes collection is now available for download via iTunes.
