In a world where everything can be Googled, and you can potentially find out and discover new things every second via Twitter or Facebook, it’s rare to have your mind consistently blown by something else, other than the Internet.
The thing that constantly blows my mind is...
The Lakeland Catalogue.
Lakeland never ceases to amaze me with their nifty gadgets, delicious snacks and clever kitchen accessories that seem not only able to enhance your cooking experience, but capable of transforming your entire life.
Here are the latest bits from Lakeland that have me amazed...
Apparently these flowers are from the “foothills of the Blue Mountains in Australia”, and what makes them so special is that when they're added to champagne, they BLOOM RIGHT BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES. Like those magical teas at Ping Pong Dim Sum. Lakeland recommend adding one of the flowers plus a bit of the “crimson syrup” they come soaked in, and voila! You will blow your party guests minds.
OK, I’ve seen fairy lights before, and I’ve seen solar powered lights for your garden, as well. However. Solar lights in the shape of lady birds?! Amazing! (They also sell frog lights!!!)
I don’t know a lot about lettuce. What I do know is that it tastes nice covered in Ranch Dressing, and that I generally get frustrated when the lettuce turns brown after two seconds and I have to toss it out. However! Lakeland have now informed me that there is a knife that can prevent this from happening! Apparently when you cut through lettuce with a metal knife the oxidisation turns the edges brown. But! If you use this plastic knife, that doesn’t happen. WIN!
This machine is amazing. It freezes popsicles, er, frozen lollies in ten minutes, and it doesn’t even require electricity. All you do is add whatever ingredients you'd like to make your lollies out of – yogurt, vodka, strawberries, rum, squash, etc - and then stick it in the Zoku Maker, and BAM! FROZEN LOLLIES. Lakeland even make a special note of giving a recipe for boozy mojito popsicles. Lakeland, I love you.
I might be a simple creative who never thought to put their washing up cloths and sponges and Fairy Liquid in a plastic container by the sink before – but when I saw this little caddy, I got excited. It’s a caddy! For your dish stuff! And it’s only £12.99!
