Some people have immaculate dishware in their home: everything matches, nothing is chipped, and it’s probably worth more than my car. I am not one of those people. I love mismatched dishes and accent pieces, especially when it comes to teacups, serving bowls, and platters. Not being gifted at throwing ceramics on a wheel, instead I have grown my collection of mismatched wares through craft fairs and second hand shops.

I got hooked on the idea of making homemade truffles a few weeks ago. I talked and talked and talked about it to everyone I knew, until finally, I blocked out a Saturday evening and got to chocolatier-ing.
I’m not going to lie, this process takes time. And while I almost lost a finger (chocolate chopping) and a toe (kitchen dancing) the time and effort necessary were totally worth it.

Like many of you out there, I find stationary and office supplies to be one of the finer things in life. Yes, aged wines, a good cheesecake and a bit of Westwood are all well and good, but there is something about a fresh pack of Post-Its that makes me giddy with glee.
I've mentioned before how much I love the office supplies from Knock Knock, and they have some new products in...

Hot chocolate, sloe gin and gingerbread lattes may be some of the greatest perks of the chilly autumn season, however, the changing leaves and dropping temperatures also bring forth another treat: snugly blankets.
One may think that blankets and specifically using the term “snugly blankets” should be reserved for the twee and tweenage, however, I put my hand up and admit that I have a slight blanket problem – in the colder months I become obsessed. I cannot walk past a soft look...

We Americans have finally been blessed with the finest British export: Come Dine With Me. I skip home every Tuesday evening giddy with excitement and settle down in front of the TV with a vegan feast. It’s my favorite night of the week.
A few episodes ago one of the contestants served pear and squash soup and I went “say whaaat?! I have to make that!” So I did. It’s a sweet and savory combination that when written out on a page doesn’t seem too appealing. But I promise it’s r...

There are few things better than banana bread baking away in your oven filling the whole house with cinnamon and spice and everything nice. It’s getting a bit nippy in the mornings and the promise of a few warm slices slathered with jam makes it a little easier to roll out of bed.
The walnuts in this recipe are optional, but the chocolate chips are a MUST.

Everyone knows that the nuclear American family as it once existed is no longer a widespread reality. Work hours are longer, the ability to have family AND professional success more challenging, and the idea of gathering around a dinner table each night over a fresh meal virtually a distant memory.

Baking Week is alive and kicking, and will be running until 24th of October! Baking Week provides a good excuse to swathe friends, family and co-workers in baked goodness. The Internet decrees it and so it must be celebrated with gusto.
