Try googling “vegan Mille Crêpes.” Nothing right? How come vegans can’t partake in a mile high stack of crêpes and pastry cream? Just another vegan related injustice… Until now. This French tower is made from 20 crêpes layers, a walnut crème and a pudding-like pastry cream. It’s labor intensive, but come on, when was the last time you had a cake made out of pancakes?

Summer isn't over yet, folks! While the UK may seem a bit dreary, BitchBuzz and Cherry Vimto are still holding on to those last rays of sunshine. If you've not tried it yet, Cherry Vimto, the cheeky cherry twist to the classic Vimto drink, is on sale now and taking cherry fans by storm. (Might we also add that it goes swell with Absolut Vodka?)

Would you eat a grasshopper kebab or a deep fried Scorpion? I’ve always fancied trying an insect when visiting parts of the world such as Thailand where they are considered a delicacy. However, I have always wimped out, preferring to be convinced by my various companions that it is a VERY BAD IDEA. According to a story in The Observer, they are now at the forefront of the battle f...

Steamed asparagus is so lame. If I have to choke down one more stem of flavorless green mush cooked within an inch of its life, I’m going to scream. I beg you, put your pots away and stop the asparagus abuse once and for all! Instead try giving those odd little green stalks a good roast. I’ve seasoned this summery side dish with Herbes de Provence and tarragon, but you could really use anything you like. Just pop your concoction into the oven and rediscover how good vegetables can tast...

It is only recently that I've discovered the key ingredient to cake baking is not love, but in fact baking powder. It's made the whole thing a lot simpler and since this revelation I've been throwing myself as any cake recipe I can find. This won't end well.I was recently cooking for an important birthday, and upon idly remembering that cake is a - if not the - most important part of a birthday only the day before. The following recipe comes from the often brilliant and some...

I am a lazy cook it has to be said. My husband loves cooking so he tends to cook the majority of the meals and when he isn't at home and I am forced to cook myself. My cooking expertise tends to be pasta bake or pasta and cheese or just cheese…anything I can bung in the oven or put on the hob and forget about. What’s the point in spending ages cooking a meal for one?

Fattoush! This Lebanese salad is not only fun to say, but also tastes divine. Traditionally, fattoush is made to use up stale pita, which is toasted and acts as the base of the salad. Well, I decided to be super lazy and just use a bag of store bought pita chips. You can go ahead and make your own chips (you can even use my recipe!), but nothing’s easier than opening a bag on a hot summer day.

I’m not usually a fan of funny , cross-stitched wall hangings or embroidered pillows, however, The Sinister Giraffe may very well be my new favourite person. Miss Giraffe takes those magically hateful headlines from the best newspaper ever, The Daily Mail, and lovingly stitches them into pillows and lovely bits of fabric that you can hang on your wall.

After my baking failure of last week, I decided to take a short break from testing chocolate treats. I received a slew of suggestions from readers for my next brownie adventure and I look forward to experimenting, hopefully with better results! So from sweet disasters we move to savory southern delights.

I started a new job last week, which while exciting has sadly left me little time to cook during the week. So on Sunday I made sure to set aside a chunk of time to hang out in the kitchen and make something super time consuming to make up for a week of neglect. And what’s more time consuming than risotto? All that pouring and stirring and watching and waiting. Well it was bliss to me, and I could tell my stovetop really missed me.
