Here are some great ideas I put together last Thanksgiving for what you can do with your leftovers, as I'm sure there are plenty! Enjoy! You were cooking all day yesterday. While you may have been left satisfied and needing to undo the top button of your jeans - today is a new day, and - once again - you're going to have to eat. Some people do really fancy things with the...

Ah, Thanksgiving. The traditional American holiday when your family deep sighs and moans “Well, what should we make for you?” As if it were some crazy difficult task to not put turkey or heavy cream in every single dish on the table. Instead of sulking behind your sad plate of green beans and heap of iceberg salad with no dressing, get involved! My advice is to focus on the real main event: dessert!

It’s amazing what can happen in a year. This time last year, the western world believed it was on the brink of another Great Depression. So many people lost their homes and jobs, and it’s only now that we are starting to see a recovery. But for some, a terrifying thing like losing your job turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

I don’t think pizza falls into the luxury food category and yet I’m sure the price of supermarket pizza has steadily risen over the last few years. There appears to be a correlation between the price increase and the fanciness of the toppings. Ham and pineapple is being ousted in favour of caramelised onion and goat’s cheese. It’s still just pizza though and a drizzle of balsamic glaze won’t convince me to pay more than £5 for something I’m going to eat at home in my pyjamas.

Have you ever had a piece of furniture that just sits in the corner of the room looking horrible? That functional yet downright embarrassing desk or that lumpy and boring chair? Alternatively, you might have bought a tatty dresser with potential on eBay, or spotted a bargain being chucked out with the bins. After all, we are in a recession – and we are meant to be being thrifty.

I love a good noodle soup. It is the ultimate in quick, easy, tasty and nutricious food. While a nice simple stock base is just what you need sometimes, it can also be a little bit dull, but coconut milk, and some spice are a great way to make it a lot more exciting without any extra effort.Adding just a little Thai green curry paste whilst frying the tofu, and then coconut milk to the stock, transforms a basic noodle soup into something resembling a light, noodley Thai Green Curry.

At this time of year, the combination of the cold weather, and a seasonal addiction to nutrition-deficient carbs can leave us feeling a little run-down. That and 'The Swine' lurking around every corner and you are positively DOOMED, sliding down a phlegm-moistened slope to days of pyjamas and daytime TV.
