There’s nothing I love more than being over at someone’s house who has the neatest little kitschy things sprinkled here and there and everywhere throughout their home. More often than not, people will say, “Oh, I got that on holiday...” or “Oh that? I found it at a neat little flea market in Helsinki...” and then you start to feel terribly uncool that you don’t have fun little treasures scattered all over your domain, too.

When I get bored of biscuits, brownies, or even cupcakes with two inches worth of frosting on top - I love nothing more than to make these lemon drizzle poppy seed cupcakes. I’m definitely opposed to boring dinnerware, and am easily bored with department store and homewares shop selling the same sets of plates, bowls and cups. It seems difficult to find dinner sets that are creative, and not something that you’re going to find in your best friend’s kitchen when you go over for lunch.

I found myself in possession of some portabella mushrooms this week, and on observing their deep concavity, concluded that the best thing to do, would be to stuff them.Ricotta cheese works especially well as a filling because it has the ability to withstand a hot oven without melting all over the place. With spinach, onions and garlic added to the mix, you are left with a delicious and flavoursome topping.
