Homemade Takeaway Part 4: Pizza

Pizza is undoubtedly one of the filthiest takeaways. Of course, you can get a pretty nice Pizza delivered from a restaurant, or a gourmet take-away service such as Raw, but they can be expensive and feel like a bit of an extravagant cop-out for when you simply can’t be arsed with cooking. If you’re going to spend that much on food, it seems like you should at least make it worth the money and drag your lazy-arse to a nice restaurant.

Starbucks VIA Instant Coffee (It's Great for Cupcakes!)

While some of us may prefer to froth up our own milk and shell out the money for a home espresso machine, some of us would rather just stay home and make a coffee in three minutes flat, for a measly forty pence.

Tasty Quickie: Broccoli Soup with Blue Cheese

During the summer, soup can get a little neglected. There is of course perennial favourite, Gazpacho, but for those who can't deal with cold, pureed vegetables, soup is largely off the menu during summer months. Broccoli, along with its good friend blue cheese however, make a delicious soup that is just as appetising in the summer months. Instead of blending the cheese into the soup, chunks of creamy dolcelatte float around a deliciously fresh, green and summery soup, making it as d...

Put Your Pussy On a Shelf: The Wall Mounted Cat Bed

If you're a cat lover, you know what they're like. They make beds and nests in the craziest places: plants, sinks, washing machines and sock drawers. However, a classic feline favorite, is the shelf. And now, Supermarket is selling mounted cat beds so that your cat can still have the triumph of climbing and sleeping on something weird and above ground, but unlike your favorite dress, ...

Homemade Takeaway Part 3: Pilau Rice

Now that you have made up batches of Curry Gravy, and Curry Paste, you may as well master some proper pilau rice to go with it, as it would be a shame to serve up all your hard work on a pile of starchy American long grain now, wouldn't it?

Tasty Quickie: Lemon Garlic and Chili Chicken

This weekend I got all ambitious with a chicken and spatchcocked the little fucker, you know, just like you get in Nandos. It was nowhere near as easy as the guy on YouTube made it look, so I wouldn't recommend you do it in a hurry. But I would recommend you knock up the delicious lemon, garlic and chili marinade I slathered it with and rub...

The Perfect Decorations For a Summer Garden Party

There's nothing like a gorgeous day, the warm summer air and a group of fantastically drunk friends in your  back garden. However, a BBQ is only as good as the food and the atmosphere its in, no matter how strong the drinks are.

Homemade Takeaway Part 2: Curry Paste

While an onion curry gravy will form a nice base sauce for most curries, it is a curry paste that you really get all of your flavour from. The great thing about a curry paste, is that while it may contain a variety of complex spices, making it is incredibly easy, and using it is even easier: simply fry your vegetables or meat in the paste, add the base sauce and you will have yourself a cur...

Tasty Quickie: Sesame Steak Salad with Soy Dressing

I like salad a lot, but it needs to have substance. Nothing gets my culinary goat more than being served a few flaccid lettuce leaves coated in a pissy mayonnaise dressing. This salad however, has a steak in it, which is essentially enough said. Crisp carrots and spring onions give it plenty of bite, while deep green leaves, beetroot and rich soy dressing give it plenty of flavour.

Tried & Tested: Lavazza's A Modo Mio Espresso Machine

Because of this horrific recession, everyone has come up with new fangled ways of saving money, how you should spend your money, and how to invest your money.  There are a lot of people who suggest that if you invest a little time and money, and learn how to make you own stuff, you'll be better off in the long run.
