To say that TG Green’s blue and white Cornishware is a British Classic would be an understatement.
First created in Cornwall in the 1920s, Cornishware become a fixture in many British homes and kitchens. In the 1960s Cornishware was updated by designer Judith Onions, and her restyled take on the original crockery was so popular it quickly turned in to a collectors items. Sadly, in 2007 the factory closed down, however, Cornishware fans and admirers came to the rescue!
Charles Rickards and Paul Burston teamed up with designer and branding consultant Perry Haydn Taylor (whose wife Vik is a Cornishware collector) and Bill Barlow of Bigfish, and together they've restored Cornishware back to its "rightful position".
Cornishware is now thriving, (both online and in stockists all over England) and you can even buy different version of the classic Cornish Blue range, said to embody the “blue sky and white-crested waves of Cornwall”, as there is now Cornish Colours in baby blue, lavender, yellow, green, black, and pink - separated for "boys" and "girls". (You can also personalize your Cornishware!)
However, my favorite range of Cornishware would have to be the new Cornish Red range. Perfect for the holidays (or any other time of the year), you can buy this gorgeous range in everything from small mugs, to Hot Chocolate mugs, to plates, bowls, egg cups and honey jars.
While the gorgeous Cornish Red range isn’t super cheap, you can still grab all of the following for under £200.
