I cannot take credit for this. When Hilda Grahnat posted this picture from her Easter celebrations it took about 0.2 seconds for me to decide "I'M DOING THAT."
You could definitely eat these grilled bananas on their own, but I recommend getting a little fancy with them. And by fancy, I mean ice creamy. Add a few scoops of your favorite (non-dairy) ice cream, some chopped nuts and a few squirts of rice or soy whipped cream and bam! You've got yourself a fancy pants sundae.
You could also alternate the chocolate with marshmallows (I like Dandies best). When grilled, sprinkle on some graham cracker crumbs and have yourself a banana s'more feast!
You could even smear the hot banana with some peanut butter and have an Elvis approved dessert. Wait! You could even top that with a piece of soy bacon!
The possibilities are endless, so grab your bananas and get grilling!
Ingredients
1 banana per person
5 squares of your favorite chocolate, per banana
All the extra ingredients your heart desires
Method
Lay each banana on its side and create slit down the middle going 3/4ths of the way through the banana.
Stuff chocolate into the slit.
Plop on a hot grill with the cover down for about 5 to 8 minutes.
The banana skins should be blackened and the chocolate should be gooey.
Carefully peel away the charred skins and serve in whichever fashion you see fit.
