This is a super quick, super easy way to jazz up your almonds. They're great on salads and ice cream. But be warned, after they've cooled, put them away or else you'll keep grabbing handfuls off the counter.
Ingredients
1 teaspoon canola oil
1 cup raw almonds
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
6 tablespoons pure maple syrup
Method
Over medium-low heat, toast the almonds gently with the teaspoon of canola oil in a large saucepan.
Shake and swirl the saucepan to avoid burning.
After 2 minutes, all the almonds should be shiny with oil and slightly fragrant. Sprinkle in cinnamon and keep swirling to evenly coat the almonds.
Pour in maple syrup and stir with a wooden spoon. Keep cooking for about 3 minutes. The syrup will go thick and sticky and lovely.
Turn out the almonds onto a big piece of parchment and cool completely.
Add to whatever you see fit!
