I'm back on the "make breakfast exciting!" train in an effort to make breakfast both more exciting and more filling. You see, by 11am I'm starving and I have to talk myself out of eating lunch before noon. This smoothie barely takes more effort than making a bowl of cereal and let's me get to lunch at a much more reasonable hour.
It's called a Shhhmoothie because there are secret greens hidden behind the tasty banana, peanut butter and chocolate flavors. So you're taste buds get a happy treat while your body gets the iron and other nutrients it needs to keep you going til lunch.
Ingredients
1 banana, broken into chunks
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
2 big handfuls arugula or baby spinach
1/2 cup to 1 cup almond milk, depending on desired thickness
1 teaspoon agave nectar, maple or brown rice syrup (optional)
Method
Blend all ingredients until smooth using a blender, food processor or handheld immersion blender. Make the night before and refrigerate until morning if you so desire!
