Last Halloween I was instructed to "make some sort of sweet pumpkin dip thing."
I didn't really know what I was doing and ended up with a loose pumpkin frosting that looked like pale orange soup. I was worried. Turns out there was no need because if you give people a frosting type substance and tell them to use cookies as dip vehicles, people really like it! And it turns out it's a thing!
One fellow Halloween partier, a very tall cat, had actually had it before. Other people have actually made this strange pale orange sweet dip before! Now you can make it too, maybe even for your Halloween party, and make it vegan.
Ingredients
8 ounces canned or fresh pumpkin puree
8 ounces non-dairy cream cheese (I like Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese)
1 cup vegan powdered sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon pumpkin spice blend
1/8th teaspoon ground nutmeg
Method
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and cream together with a hand mixer or with the magnificent power of your own biceps until smooth. Refrigerate for a half hour before serving. Pair with gingersnaps, vanilla wafers, graham crackers or pretzels. It's frosting as dip, people!
